How to Disable Timeline on Facebook

Facebook rolled out its timeline avatar last year and since then made it mandatory for all the users to switch over to it. Though timeline is designed to help you and your friends view and share your social life on one page, you may not like it. If you don't like timeline, you have the choice to disable it. Here is an instructive guide for you to get rid of Facebook timeline.

Instructions:

The first thing you can keep in your mind is that the Facebook timeline does not hold Internet Explorer (Ie) 7 and older versions. So, if you are using any of the older Ie versions, timeline will not be a question for you. You will see the same old profile look after logging into your Facebook account. One thing for sure will happen and that is Microsoft will keep prompting you to upgrade your existing browser version to a newer one like Ie 8 or so.

For other browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari etc., you can download and setup F.B. Purity, a free browser extension. The extension will also work for newer Ie versions. Visit the fbpurity website and download the desired edition for whichever web browser you use. When on the website, click the green Install F.B. Clarity N Ѵਹ - Extension button. If your browser prevents the download, allow it to run the file.

When done, hit the Save File button to save the downloaded file to your computer. If prompted, pick a location to save the file. If not prompted, the file might get automatically saved in the Downloads folder. When done, exit the browser window. Look for the downloaded file and open it. Run the installation. If prompted, reboot your computer. When done, look for the F.B. Clarity N Ѵਹ shortcut on your desktop and open it.

For example, if you are using Mozilla Firefox, open it. Click the Tools tab and navigate to User Agent Switcher> Internet Explorer> Internet Explorer 6 or 7. That's it! Now open Facebook and log in to your profile. You will no longer see Facebook timeline (if you were switched over to timeline before). It will just remain the old profile format for your Facebook profile. This will also do for the profile formats of your Facebook friends. You will see them in the old format.

If anytime you want to restore the Facebook timeline format, click Tools and navigate to User Agent Switcher and point to Default User Agent. You will start seeing the timeline format. Instead of this you can also disable the User Agent Switcher by clicking it. When done, open Facebook and log back into your account. You will see the timeline format.

Additional Tips:

Remember, if Facebook makes upgrading to timeline mandatory, even this type of tool cannot help you revert to the old profile. So, get used to timeline and wait for Facebook to scrap it.

Boost Your Computer Speed: important Tips

When you first buy your computer, it seems to be quite fast. But with the tube of time and advancement in technology most Pc users complain that the performance of these machines keep on deteriorating slowly. So, if you're one of them, you needn't worry anymore because we're here to give you data on how to not only growth the speed of your computer but also how to enhance the life of your desktop. There are basically two low cost solutions that can effectively speed up your machine. And the best part about these two methods is that you can do them yourself.

The first recipe is to add more Ram to your computer. Ram stands for Random passage Memory. Increasing the Ram could growth the speed of your computer. But this is dependent on your system's motherboard. For example, upgrading your computer from 128 megabytes to 256 megabytes or more can substantially growth its performance. The second clarification to your problem would be to switch from Ide hard drives to Scsi. One of the reasons for slow functioning of a computer is the communications speed to and from your hard drives. And Scsi can help sell out this problem considerably.

However, if you don't want to spend any more money on your old computer and don't feel the need to upgrade it, then there are some other ways to Increasing the speed of your computer at no cost. One recipe to a faster computer without spending any money would be to clean up your registry.

The registry is a main part of your computer's Operating System. With time, as you use Windows and setup and uninstall programs, your registry will get congested. This is one of the reasons why your computer could slow down. So, if you can clean it up this problem can be solved. However, cleaning your registry off some software could do it more harm than good. If you're trying to clean up your registry for the first time, you could seriously damage it in the process. So, before you venture out to do this, you need to do some research on the Internet and visit some online forums that can help you out.

Another way to considerably speed up your computer is by disabling unnecessary applications. The Windows software in your computer would have installed many applications, most of them you commonly wouldn't need. Sometimes too many active processes can sell out your computer's speed. So, when you disable some of them you growth your computer's speed. Also, disable unnecessary services that are used by Windows. Some of these services are set to automatically load on startup. Sometimes there are services that you don't even use. However, for this you'll need to do some research on which assistance you are going to disable, before you try and do it. Also, though you might not comprehend it, fonts can slow down your computer. So, getting rid of excess fonts can also be a solution. But to do it you'll need to download a freeware that will make the task easy. And also take care not to delete any system fonts in the process.

And last but not the least you could delete your history, temporary files and cookies. It's a very straightforward process. Go to Internet explorer and click on Tools Menu and then Internet Options. But, all these solutions come with a cautionary statement: when you delete or disable anything that you're not clear about, it's best to do a petite background research or seek the guidance of an devotee before you do so.
